KARACHI: The guru of cricket Statistician, Sohail Khan, visually impaired shocked the students, faculty and staff of the Greenwich University by answering various questions about cricket records, its history and statistics pertaining to the Game in a confidence manner which nurtured an interesting event held at the Dr. Kamal auditorium of Greenwich University held on Thursday.
SAJS, who time and again recognizing the services of the sports Journalist and people who have rendered excellent performance, presented a cheque of Rupees two hundred thousand to Sohail Khan for his outstanding statistical work regarding cricket records.
Sohail Khan, speaking on the occasion said that though he could not watch the matches but still he can feel the environment, because my friends, relatives and colleagues eyes becomes my mine. He said that cricket was my passion from childhood and I started memorizing the records from my early days. Sohail Khan said that he never gave up and worked hard, he urged the students that your hard work will pay, come what may. He thanked SJAS for honouring him and also thanked the management of Greenwich University.
President of SJAS, Asif Khan, addressing the gathering said that his organization is not only promoting sports but also want to pay tribute to those heroes who are the true lovers of sports.
Asghar Azeem, Secretary, SJAS, lauded the memory of Sohail Khan and said that the guru always helps Journalists in providing records, he said that we all are proud of Sohail Khan. Mahmood Riaz, Vice President, SJAS, said that our organization is feeling proud to honour Sohail Khan who is true Legend in his field.
Zubair Nazir, senior sports journalists, paid glowing tributes to Sohail Khan and said he is assets for the sports fraternity.
Faizan Lakhani, sports Journalist, said that the passion which Sohail Khan has shown for Cricket record is unprecedented.
Journalists, Iqbal Jamil said that Greenwich University is always in forefront in promoting healthy activities. He paid rich tributes to Sohail Khan.
Faculty of Greenwich University, Umer Khan, who conducted the program, said that commitment of Sohail Khan is example for your youth.
Later Director of QEC, Emmad UK Karim presented shields to Sohail Khan and others.
