KARACHI: Shahid Khan Afridi, the former captain of the national cricket team, reached Naya Nazimabad to review the performance of the young players after the Mega Star League Season Two, trials.
Naya Nazimabad Gymkhana President Syed Muhammad Talha and Manager Sports Muhammad Asif welcomed him and presented him with a bouquet.
Shahid Afridi appreciated the sports facilities in Naya Nazimabad. He said that Arif Habib’s services for the promotion of sports in the city of Quaid is outstanding. Naya Nazimabad Gymkhana is the best addition to Karachi for healthy activities, he added.
Syed Muhammad Talha said that Naya Nazimabad is being made as a sports city where various facilities including cricket, football, futsal, basketball, tennis, swimming, squash, badminton, table tennis will be played.
Boom Boom Afridi closely watched the performance of the selected players on this occasion and gave every batsman important tips.
Thirty players have been selected in the first phase, after which the players will be shortlisted after the practice matches.
