KARACHI: Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori while lauding the contribution of USAID in social sector in the province has said that USAID is helping in provision of improved facilities to masses in specially health and education sectors.
This was stated by him during a meeting with Consul General of USA in Karachi Nicole Theriot at Governor House here Monday. Bilateral relations, investment opportunities in the province, projects of USAID, IT programme under Governor’s initiative and other matters of mutual interests were discussed on the occasion.
Governor Sindh said that US investment would generate employment and help in reducing poverty. IT programme is aimed at making the youth financially empowered, he added.
The Consul General said that US investors are interested in investing in various sectors in the province. She lauded various public welfare projects including IT courses for youth.
Later, she visited Bell of Hope where Governor Sindh informed her about the objectives of installing this bell. She also witnessed registration process of Taqatwar Pakistan Ration begs and distributed ration amongst registered persons.
Nicole Theriot along with Governor Sindh visited Quaid’s Room and saw personal belongings of Father of the Nation preserved there.
Meanwhile, Mutahida Qaumi Movement and Grand Democratic Alliance delegations separately called on Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori at Governor House here Monday.
Overall political situation in the province, role of all stake holders in this regard, development projects of public importance, cooperation of Federal Government and other matters of mutual interests were discussed on the occasion.
MQM delegation comprised Dr. Farooq Sattar,Syed Mustafa Kamal, Anees Qaimkhani, Khawaja Izhar ul Hassan and others, while GDA delegation included Safdar Abbasi, Sardar Abdul Raheem, Hasnain Mirza and Nand Kumar.
