Cody Simpson honored his girlfriend, Emma McKeon, as she made history by winning gold for Australia at the Paris Olympics.
The 27-year-old couldn’t contain his excitement over Emma’s victory in the 4x100m freestyle relay, which secured her a record-breaking sixth gold medal.
Cody shared his joy on Instagram, posting a photo of himself with Emma, proudly displaying her gold medal next to a display case.
The Australian singer and actor showered Emma with praise, writing, “Golden girl. Emma, witnessing you compete and finish your Olympic career with such grace and power was a privilege. You inspire me deeply, and it’s an honor to be your partner! I’m lucky to have you, and I hope you don’t realize it anytime soon!”
Cody, who traveled to Paris to support Emma, also expressed his admiration for her on live television after her first big win at the games.
Speaking to Nine, he said, “We are all incredibly proud of her. She’ll be modest about it, but what she’s achieved is truly special.”
On the professional front, McKeon announced her retirement after the conclusion of the Olympics last week.
