Many theories are being floated about former Prime Minister of Sheikh Hasina Wajid’s disgraceful exit from Bangladesh to India that was responsible for dismembering Pakistan and carving out state from within state to bring new country on the globe. Unfortunately the greed of retaining power come what may has been main reason of unrest in Asian countries. Muslim countries are ruled by Monarch’, kings and rulers appointed from within families. But, super power has its own policies and objectives and they don’t mind toppling government’s by creating internal disorder, economic meltdown and coup de ta. The super power can go to the extent of regime change by attacking the country in violation of charter of United Nations. We have recent example of Afghanistan, Libya, Iraq and Syria that survived due to Russia’s timely help. Now coming to Bangladesh. Although as per reports it was alleged by Hasina Wajid that it was due to differences with US on issue of bases but her son denied having given any such statement.
Sheikh Hasina’s down fall was on account of multiple factors. It started off from Agartala case which was proper case unlike we have cases in Pakistan. Gen Ayub came under pressure from politicians and case of treason against Sheikh Mujib was withdrawn that ultimately resulted in dismemberment of Pakistan. The founder of Bangladesh was assassinated by his own army. With the help of our enemy India Sheikh Hasina was the only survivor from family became PM. She remained PM for 30 years. To retain power she used all methods to suppress opposition and filled jails with all those who differed. Khalida Zia was put in jail and later on remained under house arrest. Many aged JI leaders were hanged to scare the people. She used all tactics to stay in power, God has its own planning for such people. She manipulated results in Jan 2024 general elections but it was short lived. All the opposition parties boycotted the elections because most of the leaders were arrested and it became free for Awami League to fill empty boxes with bogus votes with the help of Mukti Bahni and take oath of Prime Minister for the next 5 years inviting wrath of joint opposition. It was basically students protest against quota system that started spreading throughout the country, she indulged in shooting on the protesters as reported more than 200 people were killed thus sealing fate of former Prime Minister. Her ouster at a time when country was economically doing well with over $ 26815 Million reserves and with GDP 8.2% country so strong financially no one could think of such a change in Bangladesh.
This change has not happened in a day.
There is a continuity, Bangladesh Army tolerated much nonsense of Mujeeb but when was adament to sign a friendship treaty with India to permit the stationing of Indian troops in Bangladesh they said Enough is Enough and Mujeeb was not only a Certified Traitor of PAKISTAN but was the biggest Traitor of his own people who had given him mandate and colossal sacrifices did not deserve such betrayal.
Similarly people of Bangladesh were being crushed by Pro Hindu Awami league workers with the help of Mukti Bahni they were having licence to loot and kill being the liberators and wanted to continue this oppression and exploitation which compelled people and students to do what they have done. She managed to flee to India, in the meantime Dr Younas has been appointed as chief advisor of Bangladesh. Now fresh elections are under way, most of the detainees along with opposition leader Khalida Zia has been released looks positive step towards peaceful transfer of power to real elected leaders. However, it is difficult to predict in which direction Bangladesh shall move forward but it is very clear that her tyrant rule shall have no place in politics but one lesson emerges that power of people cannot be crushed for a longer period.
