Clash at DHA Phase 2 Extension Forces Shop Closures

KARACHI: A violent clash broke out today in DHA Phase 2 Extension, resulting in the closure of numerous shops in the area. The altercation, reportedly between members of the CBC (Cantonment Board Clifton) and a group of tandoor workers and fruit vendors, has left the local community shaken.

Eyewitnesses say that tensions escalated when CBC officials attempted to enforce regulations in the area. Many of the vendors involved, primarily Pathans working at local tandoors and fruit stalls, resisted the crackdown, leading to a heated confrontation. The situation quickly spiraled into a physical altercation, with other vendors joining in.

As the violence unfolded, shopkeepers in the vicinity swiftly closed their stores, fearing for their safety. Several shop owners expressed frustration, stating that they had no choice but to shut down operations in the midst of the conflict.

Local residents have called for swift action to de-escalate the situation, with some demanding better coordination between the CBC and small businesses in the area. Authorities are currently investigating the incident, and no serious injuries have been reported at this time.

Further updates will follow as the situation develops.
