In the first T20I at Multan Cricket Stadium on Monday, South Africa’s women’s team triumphed over Pakistan by 10 runs.

The Proteas restricted Pakistan to 122/5 in their 20 overs, falling short of the 133-run target set by South Africa.

Pakistan won the toss and chose to field first. South Africa, led by Laura Wolvaardt, scored 132/4 in their 20 overs, with Tazmin Brits remaining unbeaten on 56 from 63 balls, including five fours. Chloe Tryon contributed with a quick 15 off 7 balls, hitting two sixes.

Sadia Iqbal took three wickets for Pakistan, while Nida Dar dismissed Marizanne Kapp, who scored 14 runs from 14 balls with two boundaries.

In Pakistan’s innings, they struggled from the start, with Gull Feroza being caught off the very first delivery of Marizanne Kapp by Chloe Tryon. Muneeba Ali (6), Sidra Amin (4), and Sadaf Shamas (2) were unable to score significantly.

Kapp removed Sidra Amin in the 2.3rd over, and Tumi Sekhukhune dismissed Nida Dar, who had made 16 runs off 26 balls. Seshnie Naidu sent Sadaf Shamas back to the pavilion after Sune Luus caught her out in the 7.2nd over.

Despite a valiant effort from Aliya Riaz, who scored 52 off 39 balls, and captain Fatima Sana, who contributed 37 from 24 deliveries, Pakistan fell short, ending their innings at 122/5.
