### PIA Flight Successfully Lands in Dubai Despite Hydraulic System Malfunction

An emergency unfolded on Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) Flight PK 213 during its journey from Karachi to Dubai. The incident occurred over the Gulf of Oman when the aircraft experienced a severe hydraulic system malfunction, causing it to rapidly descend from 36,000 feet to 10,000 feet within six minutes.

The flight, which departed Karachi at 2:05 AM, was cruising at altitude when the pilot detected the hydraulic failure. Acting swiftly, the pilot declared an emergency to Air Traffic Control (ATC) in Muscat and requested assistance. Remarkably, he managed to rectify the hydraulic issue while maintaining control of the aircraft.

With the situation under control, the pilot opted to bypass a landing in Muscat, flying at a low altitude of 10,000 feet for approximately 50 minutes before safely reaching Dubai. Upon landing, the aircraft underwent a thorough inspection at Dubai Airport. Following the inspection, the Airbus A320 was cleared for its next flight to Islamabad, continuing on to Skardu.

A PIA spokesperson confirmed the incident and noted the airline’s current operational challenges, citing a shortage of aircraft due to recent administrative issues. Despite the difficulties, the pilot’s skilled handling of the situation ensured the safety of all passengers on board.
