### Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to Engage with Global Leaders at UNGA

**UNITED NATIONS/ISLAMABAD**: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is finalizing plans for his upcoming visit to the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) session, with key meetings scheduled with various world leaders. After a brief stop in London, he will arrive in New York, where significant discussions are planned, including a meeting with the newly elected British Prime Minister Keir Starmer on September 25.

On the same day, Prime Minister Sharif is expected to visit the Kuwaiti Mission to meet with the Crown Prince of Kuwait. Additionally, a meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is set for September 24. The prime minister’s agenda also includes engagements with the president of the European Union and a focus on regional cooperation through discussions with leaders from Bangladesh, Nepal, Iran, and the Maldives, though no talks are anticipated with India.

Meanwhile, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is reportedly engaged in secret discussions under the Quad alliance regarding counter-terrorism, with references to Pakistan’s ongoing challenges related to terrorism, particularly in Balochistan. Modi has recently addressed the UN’s “Summit for the Future” and participated in an event for the Indian community in Long Island, New York, with security arrangements in place to mitigate protests against his presence.

During his five-day visit, Prime Minister Sharif aims to address pressing global issues, including the existential threat of sea-level rise, sustainable development goals, and discussions on leadership for peace at various high-level meetings. He will also interact with U.S.-Pakistan business leaders to discuss investment opportunities and engage with prominent figures like UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, Bill Gates, and World Bank President Ajay Banga.

Moreover, the prime minister plans to consult with Palestinian President Mahmood Abbas on ways to garner international support to end Israeli oppression in Palestine. He will also participate in receptions hosted by the Sultan of Brunei and the Chief Advisor of Bangladesh.

In his engagements, Prime Minister Sharif will highlight the impacts of climate change, Pakistan’s sacrifices in counter-terrorism, challenges faced by debt-ridden nations, and issues related to Kashmir and Palestinian rights.

In related news, Prime Minister Sharif extended greetings to Saudi Arabia on its 94th National Day, praising the kingdom’s Vision 2030 and historic ties with Pakistan. He also expressed gratitude to Chinese President Xi Jinping for birthday wishes, reinforcing the strategic partnership between Pakistan and China.
