Ahead of the All Parties Conference (APC) on solidarity with Palestine, key political leaders—President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, PMLN President Nawaz Sharif, and JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman—gathered at the President House to discuss the current political situation, particularly focusing on constitutional amendments.
Sources revealed that during the meeting, Zardari and Nawaz sought Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s support for the proposed amendments. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar was also present, adding to the significance of the discussions.
While addressing questions after the APC, Senator Sherry Rehman hinted that political matters were naturally discussed when leaders meet, though she emphasized that the APC agenda remained central. She also mentioned that Maulana Fazl had postponed his planned trip to Karachi to attend the APC, signaling the importance of the conference.
It is expected that after Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s brief visit to Karachi, a government delegation will engage with him further on the matter of constitutional amendments.
