Fazlur Rahman: Govt Has Lost Control in KP, Balochistan Amid Lawlessness

Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUIF) chief Maulana Fazlur Rahman claimed on Monday that the government’s authority in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan has weakened significantly due to increasing lawlessness, leaving citizens’ lives and property vulnerable. Addressing scholars and dignitaries at Jamia Arabia Naumania Salihiya, Maulana Fazlur Rahman underscored the importance of maintaining the integrity, stability, and respect of state institutions, while voicing concern over declining public trust.

The JUIF leader emphasized the urgent need for corrective measures to restore order and prevent further missteps, warning of serious consequences if left unaddressed. Speaking with reporters later, he reiterated JUIF’s longstanding manifesto of eliminating the interest-based financial system in Pakistan, asserting that this vision aligns with the country’s ideological foundation. He expressed confidence that such economic reforms would be realized within the set timeframe, ultimately benefiting Pakistan’s economy.

Highlighting JUIF’s dedication to protecting both Islamic values and democratic principles, he reassured supporters of the party’s resolve against any form of dictatorship. During his visit to Jamia Arabia Naumania Salihiya, Fazlur Rahman met with Sheikhul Hadith Maulana Ashraf Ali and other prominent scholars, commending their contributions to Islam and Pakistan. Senior JUIF figures, including Engr Maulana Ziaur Rahman, Kafeel Ahmad Nizami, Maulana Qari Muhammad Umair Farooqi, Maulana Qari Ijaz Farooqi, and Muhammad Aslam, joined him.

Maulana Fazlur Rahman also received a warm welcome from local JUIF leaders and religious scholars at Darul Uloom Naumania, who praised his role in supporting the 26th Constitutional Amendment. Later, he visited Abdullah Shahjehan, a long-time JUIF member suffering from paralysis, and offered prayers for his recovery.
