The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (Ecnec), chaired by Deputy PM Ishaq Dar, approved 10 development projects worth Rs172.7 billion, deferring one health-related project for clarification.
Six of the approved projects focus on Balochistan, targeting health, skills development, and infrastructure. Highlights include the PM’s Youth Skill Development Programme (Rs15 billion), Gwadar-Quetta rail connectivity land acquisition (Rs15.6 billion), and solid waste infrastructure for Karachi (Rs29.2 billion, World Bank-funded).
Other notable approvals include road upgrades in Balochistan, Gwadar-Lasbela Livelihood Support Project (Rs19.4 billion), and upgradation of Gaddani Shipbreaking Industry (Rs12.9 billion).
