On Wednesday, PML-N President and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif hosted a luncheon in Murree in honor of Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko and his delegation. The event was attended by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, among other dignitaries.
President Lukashenko arrived in Murree from Islamabad via helicopter, landing at the Government House Kashmir Point with full protocol at the Gharial helipad. After a three-day official visit to Pakistan, he was seen off by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at the airport.
During the visit, President Lukashenko and Prime Minister Sharif reviewed the entire scope of bilateral relations between Pakistan and Belarus. They reiterated their commitment to strengthening ties in various areas, including political, trade, economic, cultural, and social domains. As a result, both leaders signed 15 significant agreements and memorandums of understanding (MoUs), including a roadmap for comprehensive cooperation covering the years 2025-2027. This roadmap aims to boost economic collaboration between the two nations.
The visit also saw a delegation of prominent Belarusian businessmen and investors accompany the president. Lukashenko held extensive meetings with Pakistani counterparts during the trip. To commemorate the visit, Prime Minister Sharif presented the Belarusian president with a photo album documenting his three-day visit to Pakistan.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar, as well as Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, were also present at the luncheon.
