Kurram’s district administration announced a ceasefire after deploying security forces to conflict zones. Deputy Commissioner Javedullah Mehsud confirmed that warring factions vacated positions, with a Kohat jirga expected to enforce peace.
Clashes, now in their 11th day, have claimed 130 lives and injured 186. Despite restored communication networks, sporadic skirmishes and closed routes continue to disrupt daily life. The violence began on November 21 after attacks on passenger vehicles in Lower Kurram. Authorities are working to extend the ceasefire across the region.
