The Provincial Apex Committee on Friday approved a comprehensive plan to restore peace in the troubled Kurram district. Key decisions included the de-weaponization of the area and the removal of all bunkers by February 1, 2024.

Evacuations may be carried out in Tirah (Khyber District) and Janikhel (Bannu) to eliminate miscreants and safeguard residents.
Meeting Highlights:
The session, chaired by Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur, included Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi, provincial cabinet members, and senior civil and military officials. The forum reviewed the lawlessness in Kurram, which has caused numerous casualties and displacements.
The meeting began with prayers and tributes to the martyrs of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and security forces. Extensive deliberations resulted in a unanimous agreement on the strategies to address the unrest.
