KARACHI: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will make a daylong visit to Karachi today to inaugurate the Faceless Customs Assessment System at the Karachi Port Trust (KPT). The innovative system, developed by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), aims to enhance transparency and efficiency in customs clearance processes while significantly reducing clearance times.
The prime minister had directed the implementation of this automation system during his previous visit to Karachi. His visit also includes a tour of the South Asia Pakistan Terminal at the port.
In addition, PM Shehbaz will visit the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) to participate in a ceremony recognizing its achievement as the second-best-performing stock exchange globally in 2024.
The prime minister’s itinerary further includes attending the launch event for the Aga Khan University’s Manual of Clinical Practice Guidelines, where he will be a special guest.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, along with several federal ministers and state officials, including Mohammad Aurangzeb, Attaullah Tarar, and Dr. Mukhtar Bharath, will accompany the prime minister. The visit underscores the government’s emphasis on digital transformation, financial growth, and healthcare innovation in Pakistan.
