ICC Team Reviews Champions Trophy Preparations in Pakistan

A five-member delegation from the International Cricket Council (ICC) inspected Pakistan’s National Bank Stadium in Karachi to assess its readiness for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy. The delegation examined renovation work and construction progress, including a five-story building under development, and toured key facilities such as the media center, dressing rooms, and the Chairman’s Box.

The Champions Trophy’s opening ceremony is scheduled for February 19, followed by the first match between Pakistan and New Zealand on the same day. The venue will also host a tri-nation ODI series featuring Pakistan, South Africa, and New Zealand, with the final match set for February 14.

This marks the fourth ICC visit to Pakistan as preparations continue. Security and operational assessments are key focus areas, reflecting efforts to deliver a successful global event.


PCB Unveils Revised Pick Order for PSL 10 Player Draft

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has revised the pick order and player draft structure for the 10th season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Changes include a streamlined categorization of players, reducing Platinum and Gold categories from three to two, while Diamond and Silver categories have also been trimmed.

Lahore Qalandars will make the first Platinum 1 pick, followed by Karachi Kings and Quetta Gladiators. The draft event, originally slated for Gwadar, will now take place at Huzoori Bagh in Lahore Fort on January 13 due to logistical issues. Gwadar remains a key stop for the PSL 10 Trophy Tour, beginning in March.

PSL 10 will run from April 8 to May 19, marking a milestone season for the popular cricket league.


Saim Ayub Undergoes Initial Medical Check-Up in London

Pakistan opener Saim Ayub has completed his first medical examination in London under the care of ankle specialist Dr. Lucky Jayaselan. Saim, who suffered an ankle fracture during the Cape Town Test against South Africa, will undergo a second assessment today to determine the severity of the injury and the next steps in his recovery.
