RAWALPINDI: The birth anniversary of Hazrat Imam Hussain ibn Ali (AS) was observed across the country with deep religious fervor and devotion, marked by illuminated mosques and imambargahs, grand Milad gatherings, and widespread arrangements of nazar-o-niyaz and tabarruk. Homes resonated with a festive, Eid-like atmosphere.
The commemorations were held under the banner of Hafta-e-Wilayat-e-Muhammad wa Aal-e-Muhammad, founded by Quaid-e-Millat-e-Jafaria Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Mousavi. According to an announcement by the head of TNFJ, Allama Syed Hussain Muqaddasi, the week-long observances are continuing with reverence. On Friday, 3rd Sha’ban, special ceremonies were organized nationwide to celebrate the luminous birth anniversary of the grandson of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), Syed al-Shuhada Hazrat Imam Hussain ibn Ali (AS). The celebrations will continue on Saturday with the birth anniversary of Hazrat Abbas Alamdar (AS).
A central Milad gathering was organized by Hiyat-e-Tulaba-e-Islamia at Ali Mosque and Imambargah Masooma-e-Qum (AS), the headquarters of the Shia school of thought. Renowned scholars, zakireen, and manqabat khwans addressed the gathering, presenting tributes and elaborating on the virtues, merits, and exalted status of Imam Hussain (AS). Speakers described 3rd Sha’ban as a blessed day symbolizing the completion of the Panjtan and a path to salvation for the Ahl-e-Mawaddat.
Addressing the central gathering, TNFJ Central Secretary Information Allama Syed Qamar Haider Zaidi said that 3rd Sha’ban is the Eid of the conscientious. He emphasized that Imam Hussain (AS) is the savior of humanity and that the Hussaini model stands as a shining lighthouse for all lovers of freedom. He stated that the very name which imperialist forces fear and tremble before is that of Imam Hussain (AS), the standard-bearer of human liberty. He further noted that the valor of Hazrat Ali ibn Abi Talib (AS) manifested in Karbala through Imam Hussain (AS), to the extent that the divine voice addressed him as Nafs-e-Mutmainna.
The gathering also featured tributes by Maulana Waqar Naqvi, Syed Hasan Kazmi, gold medalist manqabat khwan Syed Hasan Naqvi, and religious students. Separately, a women’s Milad was organized at Imambargah Zain-ul-Abideen, Satellite Town, under Anjuman Faiz-e-Panjtan, where female scholars delivered speeches, recited qasidas, and cut a celebratory cake.
Grand celebrations were also held at Imambargah Qasr-e-Hussain, Chakri, under the patronage of Chaudhry Farrukh Raza, and at the shrine of Sakhi Shah Pyara Kazmi in Chohar Harpal, featuring addresses by prominent scholars, flag hoisting amid slogans, qasida recitations, and cake-cutting ceremonies. Across Rawalpindi and Islamabad, large numbers of devotees participated in the Milad gatherings, reflecting profound devotion and unity in honoring the birth of Imam Hussain (AS).
