KARACHI: Acting Chinese Consul General Calls on Sindh Home Minister; Bilateral Cooperation, CM’s Forthcoming China Visit and Security Discussed
Karachi: Acting Consul General of China Feng Deheng called on Sindh Minister for Home and Law Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar at his office on Monday, where the two sides discussed Pakistan-China bilateral relations, matters of mutual interest, security cooperation and the longstanding friendship between the two countries.
Feng Deheng was accompanied by Mr. Li Yongqiang, Director of Administrative Affairs, and other officials of the Chinese Consulate. A representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) was also present.
The meeting was attended by the Additional Chief Secretary Home, Inspector General of Police Sindh, Additional IG Karachi, Additional IG CTD, Deputy Commissioner South, and other senior officials of the Sindh Government and law enforcement agencies.
Welcoming the delegation, Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar said Pakistan and China enjoy an enduring and time-tested friendship founded on mutual trust, respect and cooperation.
“Sindh and its people extend a message of goodwill, friendship and warmth to China and the Chinese people. We remain committed to further strengthening Pakistan-China friendship and expanding cooperation in areas of mutual interest,” the Home Minister said.
The meeting also discussed the forthcoming visit of Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah to China. Both sides expressed optimism that the visit would produce fruitful outcomes and provide further impetus to bilateral cooperation, particularly in areas linked to Sindh’s development and economic progress.
Ongoing and prospective development projects, investment opportunities and economic cooperation in Sindh also came under discussion. The participants expressed the hope that greater engagement would help advance projects and initiatives beneficial to the province while further strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation between Pakistan and China.
Security arrangements for Chinese nationals living and working across Sindh were also reviewed. The Home Minister said Chinese nationals were valued guests and friends and that their safety and security remained a priority of the Sindh Government.
He directed the police and concerned authorities to ensure comprehensive security at the residences, workplaces and projects involving Chinese nationals and to maintain effective coordination among all relevant departments and law enforcement agencies.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening the longstanding friendship and cooperation between Pakistan and China.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar presented traditional Ajraks and Sindhi caps to the Chinese delegation as a gesture of Sindh’s rich culture, hospitality and goodwill.
