ISLAMABAD: Pakistan continues to report decline in coronavirus cases as the number of active coronavirus cases has dropped to 13,953 in the country.
As many as 448 more people tested positive for the novel coronavirus during the past 24 hours across the country, said National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) on Monday.
According to the NCOC, seven people died of COVID-19 during this period, pushing the death toll from the disease in the country to 6,175.
The number of recovered patients has reached 269,087.
As many as 22,448 more samples were tested over the previous 24 hours, taking the total number of tests conducted across the country thus far has jumped to 289215.
So far, 126,182 cases have been detected in Sindh, 95,447 in Punjab, 35,215 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 12,295 in Balochistan, 15,390 in Islamabad, 2,184 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and 2,502 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Meanwhile, the Punjab government’s efforts to limit the spread of coronavirus are bearing fruit as the province recorded a 99 percent decline in new daily cases on Monday. A spokesperson for the Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department said the total number of Covid-19 cases has increased to 95,447 with the addition of 56 new cases reported over the last 24 hours.
No more coronavirus-related death was reported during the previous 24 hours, he said, adding the death toll from the disease in the province stands at 2,182 while more than 832,000 tests have been conducted across Punjab thus far. The number of patients recuperating from the disease has surged to 88,698. – TLTP
