AFAD reps visit rain-hit areas, delivers relief

MIRPUR KHAS: Muhammad and Hamza, the representatives of Turkish welfare organization AFAD Muhammad and Hamza, encouraged the people of Pakistan especially Sindh province rain affected during their short visit to Jhudo Taluka Turkish welfare organization AFAD here today. On the occasion they said that the people of Pakistan do not give up we are with them in this hard time. This they while distributing ration bags to the rain affected at Government Degree College, Jhudu.
On this occasion, it was told by the Turkish delegation that we have come to help you on behalf of the government and people of Turkey. We understand your pain as our pain. We have to come for distribution aid to the affected people. It may be mentioned here that earlier 7000 tents, 10000 ration bags and 600,000 different medicines have been distributed in different districts of Sindh by the Turkish Government. He further said that the Turkish government and the people will help the people of Pakistan at this time of need and will continue their support in relief etc.
On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Zainul Abidin Memon while thanks of the AFAD and their Representatives and especially Turkish Government and the People has said that we are grateful to the Turkish government for supporting the people of Pakistan in this period informed that the taluka of Digri Jhudo and Sindhri were badly affected in recent monsoon heavy rain and millions of people water displace from their villages have suffered a lot, the surrounding areas had in under water, due to which the crops have also been ruined.
It is difficult to help unless the country, national and international welfare organizations like AFAD cooperate and helped out. Assistant Commissioner Salim Shaikh and other officers were also present. On return back they also gave cash help to the affected people who were on road side of camps.
Meanwhile, like the whole country, in Sindh, especially Mirpur Khas, in connection with the International Literacy Day on September 8, an education awareness campaign rally was organized by the Department of Education and Literacy from the Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Girls Higher Secondary School to the Press Club.
The rally was organized in which senior officers of the Education and Literacy Department, teachers, parents and students, besides civil society representatives, including education friends, Divisional Director of Information, Hizbullah Memon, District Literacy Officer, Dr. Chaman Mansha, Head Master Model School, Shahid Khan Pathan, Deputy Doctor, Elementary& Secondary Chandomal Principal Government Comprehensive High School Jameel Qureshi Specialist Education Ali Khan Narejo Head Master Shah Waliullah High School Waris Panhor Principal Shaheed Mihtarma Benazir Bhutto Girls High School Nasreen Iqbal Focal Person Education and Literacy Imam Bakhsh Laskani emphasized on literacy.
The purpose of celebrating this day is to create awareness about education and literacy among children and for themselves and their families, for society and especially for our country Pakistan, education is the survival of nations and countries.
