A fresh clash erupted between Afghan Taliban fighters and Pakistani security forces along the Pak-Afghan border in Kurram district on Sunday.
According to local officials, both sides engaged in a heavy exchange of fire near the Zazai Maidan area, located in Afghanistan’s Khost province. The confrontation reportedly began when the Taliban attempted to establish a checkpoint close to the border, leading to a skirmish that saw the use of both light and heavy weaponry.
As of now, there are no confirmed reports of casualties or damage, and no official statements have been released regarding the incident. However, videos circulating on social media show intense gunfire in the area, with some reports suggesting that multiple individuals on the Afghan side were either killed or injured.
This skirmish comes on the heels of a similar confrontation last week, as tensions continue to flare along the Durand Line. In recent years, such clashes between Afghan Taliban forces and Pakistani security personnel have become more frequent, often resulting in casualties on both sides.
