A mass shooting in Birmingham, Alabama, left four people dead and numerous others wounded on Saturday evening. Birmingham Police Officer Truman Fitzgerald confirmed that officers found two men and a woman unresponsive at the scene, all of whom were later pronounced dead. A fourth victim succumbed to injuries at a local hospital.
The shooting occurred in the Five Points South area, where multiple attackers opened fire on a group of people. No arrests have been made so far, and the police are investigating whether the attackers were on foot or involved in a drive-by shooting.
At least 11 injured individuals are being treated at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital, with several facing life-threatening injuries. Birmingham police, alongside other law enforcement agencies, are reviewing surveillance footage to identify the attackers.
