KARACHI: All Pakistan Private Sector Universities Association, Sindh & Baluchistan Chapter has been formed here in Karachi. President IQRA University, Dr. Wasim Qazi has been elected as Chairperson while President, Mohammad Ali Jinnah University, Karachi Prof. Dr. Zubair Shaikh will be its Co-Chairperson. The main objective to constitute this Forum is to support steps taken for the promotion of higher education activities by private sector Universities and strengthening the academic activities in a better way with Higher Education commission. (HEC) This was decided during a meeting of the Vice Chancellors of Private Sector Universities held here at Mohammad Ali Jinnah University Karachi campus, Yesterday. The meeting which was chaired by Dr. Wasim Qazi, was attended by around 75 Vice Chancellors of Sindh & Baluchistan Universities physically and online. During the meeting it was emphasized that HEC should give due recognition to private sector universities, to support quality education and to initiate academic programs as per the mandate given them in the University Act. The prominent academic personalities who attended the meeting at M.A. Jinnah University Campus were included Chancellor, Indus University, Khalid Ameen Shaikh, Chancellor, Jinnah University for Women, Wajeeh Ahmed, Vice Chancellor, Malir University of Science & Technology, Prof. Dr. Shahida, Sajjad, Vice Chancellor. Jinnah University for Women, Prof. Dr. Naeem Farooqi, Vice Chancellor, Ilma University, Prof. Dr. Mansooruz Zafar, Vice Chancellor, Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology, Prof. Dr. Vali Uddin, Pro Vice Chancellor, Shaheed Benazir Bhutto City University, Shaheena Haider and Pro Vice Chancellor, The Universities of Modern Sciences, Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Memon
