FIR registered against 25 miscreants after 36 hours of protests across
Sindh; Zaireen Khidmat Committee demands immediate legal action
AGHAM KOT: On the morning of Eid at 9 AM, a group of armed individuals, led by Ashraf Laghari, Ghulam Rasool Qureshi, Zafar Shahani, Ghulam Mustafa Qureshi, and several other known figures, attacked the holy Shrine of Masooma-e-Sindh, Bibi Maham Khadija (SA) bint Imam Musa Kazim (AS). The attackers threatened the people present, vandalized the shrine, and completely demolished the ongoing construction by kicking and striking it with sticks. After hurling insults and issuing threats, they left the scene, says a Press release.
Local police were informed about the incident, but they only conducted a formal site visit and left without registering an FIR or taking any action. This inaction led to widespread protests by mourning organizations across Sindh. After 36 hours of continuous demonstrations, an FIR was finally lodged at Gulab Laghari Police Station against 15 known and 10 unidentified armed attackers under the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA) and multiple legal provisions (109, 147, 148, 152, 186, 297, 427, 434, 450, 6/7/1 ATA). The complaint was filed by government contractor Waseem Ahmed Arsani on behalf of the Sindh Auqaf Department.
Meanwhile, in a Press statement from Karachi, officials of the Zaireen Khidmat Committee Agham Kot condemned the attack, stating: “We consider this armed assault on the holy shrine of Masooma-e-Sindh, Sayyida Khadija Maham (SA) as an act of blasphemy against the Ahlul Bayt (AS) and will not tolerate such actions under any circumstances.”
They further demanded the immediate arrest and legal punishment of all the miscreants named in the FIR.
Leaders of the Zaireen Khidmat Agham Kot, including Syed Manzar Naqvi, Zawar Abdul Sattar Dars, and Mubashir Mir, expressed their gratitude to all mourning organizations across Sindh for their unwavering 36-hour protest against this shameful and reprehensible attack. They also reiterated that any act of disrespect towards the Ahlul Bayt (AS) would never be tolerated.
