RAWALPINDI: The top military leadership of Pakistan on Friday reiterated a firm resolve to maintain peace in Balochistan, declaring that foreign-backed proxies, disruptive elements, and their political facilitators will be decisively countered with the full support of the people of the province.
The message came during the 268th Corps Commanders’ Conference, chaired by Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir at the General Headquarters.
“No one will be allowed to disrupt peace in Balochistan, and the nefarious designs of foreign-sponsored proxies and their so-called political supporters will be thwarted decisively,” the forum vowed.
Exposing Hostile Networks
According to a statement by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the army’s high command reviewed internal and regional security challenges and noted that the nexus between internal and external hostile elements has been fully exposed. The military warned that these actors, who attempt to create chaos and benefit from it, will be dealt with sternly and without impunity.
Firm Commitment Against Terrorism
The military leadership reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to eliminating terrorism in all forms, regardless of the cost. It underscored the need for full enforcement of the National Action Plan (NAP) and commended the District Coordination Committees being set up across Pakistan to improve collaboration among various institutions.
COAS Gen Munir emphasized the need for sustained, coordinated efforts aligned with government directives to ensure timely implementation of NAP.
“There is no space for terrorists and their facilitators in Pakistan,” the army chief stated.
Crackdown on Illicit Financing
The COAS stressed Pakistan Army’s full support for government and law enforcement agencies in cracking down on illegal economic activities, which are seen as closely tied to the financing of terrorism.
Tribute to Martyrs and Operational Readiness
The forum offered Fateha and paid homage to the martyrs of the Armed Forces, law enforcement agencies, and civilians who sacrificed their lives for the country’s peace and stability.
Military commanders were instructed to ensure peak operational readiness through rigorous training and uphold professional excellence across all units.
Kashmir and Palestine Solidarity
The forum expressed serious concern over continued human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and condemned unprovoked ceasefire violations by the Indian Army along the Line of Control.
It reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for the people of IIOJK and called for sustained diplomatic efforts to expose Indian actions on the global stage.
The military leadership also condemned human rights abuses in Palestine and expressed solidarity with the Palestinian people.
Vision Azm-e-Istehkam
The forum stressed swift implementation of Vision Azm-e-Istehkam under NAP, calling for a whole-of-nation approach to ensure stability and uphold the Constitution.
“State institutions will enforce the law without leniency, within the boundaries of the Constitution,” the statement concluded.
