ATC Grants Bail to Imran Khan’s Sisters in Protest Case

An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Islamabad granted bail to Aleema Khan and Uzma Khan, sisters of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, on Friday. They were released on bail against surety bonds of Rs20,000 each after being detained by Kohsar Police on October 4 for protesting amid Section 144 restrictions.

Judge Abual Hasnat Zulqarnain presided over the hearing, with lawyers Niazullah Niazi and Ansar Mahmood Kiyani representing the sisters. Prosecutor Raja Naveed opposed the bail, citing that a megaphone used to incite unrest was recovered from them, but Niazi argued that no evidence of incitement was present, framing the arrests as politically motivated.

Following these arguments, the court approved bail. PTI leader Zartaj Gul confirmed the news on social media, expressing hope for Imran Khan’s eventual release.

While a separate case against the sisters at Aabpara Police Station does not include terrorism charges, they have not yet been granted bail for alleged interference in administrative matters.
