KARACHI: A world record opening unbeaten partnership of 203 runs between Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan gave a comprehensive victory for Pakistan while chasing a mammoth target of 200 runs to win against England by 10 wickets in the second T20 match at the National Stadium, Karachi.
A match winning and scintillating century by Babar Azam, his second in T20, remained unbeaten at 110 runs hitting 11 boundaries and 5 sixes in 66 deliveries.
Mohammad Rizwan gave two chances, also played a supportive knock scored 88 runs in 51 balls.
Pakistan scored 203 runs without losing a wicket.
Earlier, England set a target of 200 runs for Pakistan to win by scoring 199 for the loss of 5 wickets.
After Shahnawaz Dahani chipped in with 2 back-to-back wickets at the score of 42 runs, England made 82 runs in 10 overs. Moeen Ali who hit 4 sixes and 4 fours scored 55 runs off 23 balls was sheet anchor of the England’s innings equally supported by good innings of Ben Duckett who made 43 runs off 22 deliveries.
Haris Rauf and Shahnawaz Dahani shared 2 wickets each. The third match of the seven-match series will be played at the National Stadium Karachi today (Friday).
