ISLAMABAD: Beaconhouse Margalla Campus Girls Branch recently launched a whole school campaign regarding water conservation. Various activities were conducted throughout the week and the Final Culmination day of all the activities was celebrated on Wednesday 11th March 2020, says a Press release.
Students created posters speeches, videos and pamphlets showing the importance of water conservation. The Culmination assembly was followed by a Policy Dialogue on Water Conservation and potential water related disaster threats in Pakistan.
The session was moderated by renowned journalist and analyst Talat Hussain who is also leading the Department of Global Perspectives of BMI. A range of experts were invited from various organizations who enlightened the students on the policies and problems related to water conservation:
Shah Faisal, WASH Specialist(International Islamic Relief),Khalid Khan Food security and Livelihood specialist IIR), Maryam Ahmed faculty of social sciences at Iqra University Research scholar EPOG, Fatima Yamin Assistant Professor Department of Social Sciences Iqra University Islamabad Disaster Risk Reduction/Management, Community-Based Development and Climate Change and Civil Crisis Management and were included in the panel discussion.
The Principal of BMI Ms. Ayesha Ansar addressed the students and the members of the panel discussion in the end and expressed her gratitude towards the panelists. A shield was presented to the chief guest ‘DG MET’ Islamabad.
