KARACHI: The Indonesian Consulate General in Karachi in collaboration with Afzaal Memorial Thalassemia Foundation. (AMTF), held a blood donor campaign, Saturday, in the spirit of the 78th Anniversary of Indonesian Independence, says a Press release.
The event was held in the Indonesian Consulate General’s office and attended by diplomatic corps such Consul General of Malaysia, the consul general of Iran, diplomats of Thailand, Russia, and the Trade Mission of Viet Nam. The event was also attended by the business community, Pakistani students, Muslim scholars, the media community, and Indonesian citizens in Karachi.
In his Opening Remarks, Indonesian Consul General, Dr. June Kuncoro Hadiningrat thanked the participants for their contribution and reiterated that this annual program reflects the brotherly relations between Indonesia and Pakistan whose days of Independence are celebrated in the same month.
In his speech, Asim Kidwai, Founder and CEO of AMTF, thanked the Indonesian Consulate General for the cooperation which contributed to the betterment of people, especially the children suffering from thalassemia.
The Indonesian Consulate General in Karachi has established this program to be run annually and participated by both the Indonesian and Pakistani communities.
