KARACHI: The Consul General of France, Christian Testot inaugurated the painting Exhibition held at Alliance Francaise in Karachi.
Work of 16 painters were on display with the theme of, ‘breaking the bias’.
Addressing the gathering as chief guest Consular General of France, Christian Testot, said that he is pleased that the International Women’s Day is being observed in such a befitting manner.
He appreciated the efforts of the painters and lauded the creative work. Addressing the gathering the guest of honor Director of Alliance Francaise, Gregoire Brault, said that the women are taking active part in cultural activities.
He said that Alliance Francaise is always ready to promote healthy activities. Speaking on the occasion Mehreen Ellahi, curator of Majmua Art Gallery, said that the women have contributed a lot in the development in every sector of the country. She said it is very pleasing that women are making progress at a very rapid pace.
Fatima Hasan, Zebun Zuby, Naima Batool and Nuzhat Shirin also spoke on the occasion.
Fatima Hasan’s book on Feminist Consciousness was also launched on the occasion.
Mesmerizing khatak dance was performed by Fatima Arzoo Hassan at the ceremony to the delight of the audience.
