KARACHI: A seminar for breast cancer awareness was organized at Ali Habib Medical Center, Naya Nazimabad.
Chief Medical Officer Dr. Lubna Masood said that according to the World Health Organization, about 1.38 million new cases of breast cancer are reported every year while 458,000 women die every year.
Family Physician Dr. Sheeba Ansari said that breast cancer is spreading rapidly in Pakistan as well.
Every year about 95,000 new patients are diagnosed with breast cancer in the country, most of whom die.
Experts said that deaths due to breast cancer can be reduced through timely treatment.
Dr Anam Amir, Isra Khan and others also addressed the seminar.
