Bushra Bibi Released; PTI Refutes Claims of Deal

Bushra Bibi, wife of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, was granted bail in the Toshakhana-2 case and released from Adiala Jail after nine months of imprisonment. This follows an Islamabad High Court order and surety bonds worth Rs1 million posted by her legal team.

Despite claims by Senator Faisal Vawda that her release was part of a “pre-planned deal,” the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) refuted this, stating she was released on merit. PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan emphasized that her imprisonment was an attempt to pressure Imran Khan, and her release represents a victory for the party’s cause.

Following her release, Bushra Bibi traveled to Peshawar for a medical examination and is expected to meet with party leaders. PTI also expressed concerns over Imran Khan’s jail conditions, with party lawyers planning to file a petition regarding his treatment.

The case remains ongoing, with indictment proceedings for Bushra Bibi and Imran Khan scheduled for October 26. The PTI’s stance on the 26th Constitutional Amendment, which they oppose, was also highlighted by leaders, underscoring their commitment to legal and political action against it.
