LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has given in-principle approval to set up ‘Sahulat Bazaars’ in different cities of Punjab to provide relief to inflation-hit masses.
In a statement, the chief minister said that six ‘Sahulat Bazaars’ have already been set up in Lahore where wheat flour and other essential commodities are available at notified rates.
He said that artificial increase in the prices of vegetables, fruits and pulses will not be tolerated under any circumstances. Buzdar said, “We will ensure protection of the rights of the people at all costs.”
The local government department’s special secretary has been named a focal person for Sahulat Bazaars. Six such markets have already been set up in the provincial capital. People will be able to get essential commodities at official rates at these markets.
In a separate statement, Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar emphasized the politics of chaos does not change the destiny of the nations and stressed that those preferring personal interest over national interest cannot be leaders. He maintained that opposition cannot hoodwink the masses through their contemptuous tirade against the institutions.
The dual nature of the opposition leaders has been fully exposed and opposition’s gatherings cannot dent the government. The time is not far when the opposition alliance will be withering away and the government will complete its term, concluded the CM. – TLTP
