Japan ambassador greets Pakistanis on Independence Day
Ambassador of Japan to Pakistan Matsuda Kuninori has congratulated Pakistani people on the occasion of the country’s 74th Independence Day, which is being marked today, and reiterated his resolve to work together to further deepen and strengthen the existing friendly relations between the two countries.
“On behalf of the Government and the people of Japan, I would like to express our sincere congratulations to the Government and the people of Pakistan on their 74th Independence Day and best wishes for further peace and prosperity in Pakistan. I would also like to appreciate Pakistan’s efforts to maintain stability in this region and its contribution to various UN peace-keeping missions all over the world, and I am sure Pakistan will continue doing so,” said the ambassador in his message of felicitation on Thursday.
The ambassador mentioned the decades-old history of Japan-Pakistan cordial relationship and Pakistan’s significant role during the reconstruction of Japan after WWII. He said when Japan started to pave the way for reconstruction after the end of WWII, Pakistan was one of those countries which manifested tolerance towards Japan and welcomed its return to the international community as a signatory of San Francisco Peace Treaty in 1951. “I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the Government and the people of Pakistan for that critical and generous support of reconciliation,” he added.
Ambassador Matsuda assured Japan’s commitment to continuously supporting Pakistan’s socio-economic development and promised that he continues working on strengthening political, economic, cultural and people-to-people ties between Japan and Pakistan. In particular, the ambassador added, in response to the challenges of Covid-19 and locust invasion, Japan has provided assistance for Pakistan’s efforts to fight those difficulties and will continue to support Pakistan, as global cooperation is indispensable to tackle the on-going and borderless challenges.
Pakistan success viz corona impressive, says Indonesia envoy
Indonesia Ambassador Iwan S. Amri has lauded the success story of Pakistan against COVID-19 pandemic as very impressive. The Ambassador said during the week that it was heartening to learn the steep decline being witnessed in COVID-19 cases and fatalities and congratulated the government and people of Pakistan on this remarkable achievement.
The Ambassador was speaking at Hop-A-Thon Ambassadors Congress organized by the Institute of Peace and Diplomatic Studies (IPD) themed as “Surviving Corona, Coming Out Stronger Together”.
Ambassador Amri in his remarks said that in the wake of the pandemic Indonesia and Pakistan were faced with the similar challenges and both the countries could cooperate and work together in overcoming challenges particularly those in the economic areas.
On the occasion the Envoy availed the opportunity and on behalf of the people and Government of Indonesia extended the heartiest felicitations and best wishes to the people and Government of Pakistan on the auspicious occasion of the 74th Independence Day of Pakistan. The Ambassador noted with pleasure that Indonesia and Pakistan have been enjoying excellent diplomatic relations which were established even before the independence of the two countries.
Ambassador Amri also expressed his gratitude to the Pakistan authorities especially the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and PIA for extending their full support and cooperation in smooth repatriation of stranded Indonesian citizens in Pakistan during the lockdown restrictions.
He highlighted that both the countries had a proud history of helping out each other during the natural calamities. Both the countries fully realize that keeping a balance between saving lives and economy at the same time was a daunting task for any underdeveloped country, he added. In this scenario, I must admire Pakistan for devising a dynamic, innovative, comprehensive and successful strategy that included small lockdown, consultation, coordination and monitoring through NCOC, establishment of Tiger Force and launching of economic stimulus package that not only saved many precious lives but served as shock absorber for the economy and helped the vulnerable segments of the society in pandemic critical phase.

Justice Javed Iqbal, Chairman National Accountability Bureau at NAB apprised Rolf Michael Hay Pereira Holmboe, Ambassador of Denmark about NAB’s National Anti-Corruption Strategy in order to eradicate corruption from Pakistan and remarkable efforts to nab the corrupt elements as per law.
Rolf Michael Hay Pereira Holmboe, Ambassador of Denmark to Pakistan lauded NAB’s excellent performance of NAB under the dynamic leadership of Honorable Justice Javed Iqbal, Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in order to make Pakistan corruption free through concerted efforts to eradicate corruption from Pakistan.
