KARACHI: Market carriedon from where it left the previous day seeing yet another positive session seeing an increase of more than 1 per cent. Cement sector continued to triumph on higher bag price and increasing domestic sales assisting market to stay robust for entire trading day.
The benchmark KSE-100 index closed higher by 492.36 point to close at 46,867.95 points. KSE All Share Index increased by 250.03 to end at 32,141.83, KSE 30-Index improved by 272.19 points to conclude at 19,619.30 whereas KMI 30-Index enhanced by 1,058.51 points to finish the day at 77,752.13 levels.
Haris Saeed Khan at Topline Securities said KSE 100 Index continued its uptrend to the close the day at 46,867 (up 1.06%). LUCK was the top performer today adding 116 points to the benchmark index, while the cement sector as a whole was up 2.35% for the day. On the results front, ILP announced its 1HYFY21 EPS of 3.33 (up 89%) accompanied with a cash dividend of PKR 1.50/share. The result was below market expectations after which the stock closed at 69.98 (down 1.00%). Total traded volume and value for today stood at 514.05mn shares (up 5.7% DOD) and PKR 25.36bn (up 2.13% DOD) respectively. The volume leader for today was HUMNL with 55.47mn shares exchanging hands.
The advance to decline ratio in the broader market remained in favor of bulls. Out of 417 scrips, 244 scrips advanced, 160 declined while the value of 13 scrips remained intact.
The ready market volume ascended by 5.72 per cent to 514.208 million shares as compared to 486.375 million shares traded on last trading day.
Hum Network Limited topped the list of actives, closed higher by Rs 1.00 at Rs 7.11 on 55.465 million shares followed by Telecard Limited increased by Rs 1.00 at Rs 7.63 on 55.446 million shares and Maple Leaf Cement Factory Limited improved by Rs 1.13 at Rs 48.23 on 36.175 million shares.
Other activities were TRG Pakistan Limited ascended by Rs 4.28 at Rs 125.93 on 23.175 million shares and WorldCall Telecom Limited enhanced by Rs 0.01 at Rs 1.54 on 22.967 million shares.
The overall market capitalization enhanced by Rs 65.2916 billion to Rs 8.39349 trillion against Rs 8.32820 trillion observed on last trading day.
Bata Pakistan Limited and Sunrays Textile Mills Limited remained the top gainer by Rs 59.20 and Rs 47.99 to close at Rs 1,829.00 and Rs 687.98 respectively, while Unilever Pakistan Foods Limited and Sapphire Textile Mills Limited were among the major losers which lost Rs 450.00 and Rs 74.00 to close at Rs 13,550.00 and Rs 915.00 respectively.
