In a GQ video titled 10 Things Channing Tatum Can’t Live Without, the Dear John actor admitted, “I really dislike doing laundry—more than words can express.”
Tatum revealed, “I had a year I dubbed ‘The Year of the Fresh White T,’ during which I didn’t do laundry at all. Instead, I just bought and wore white T-shirts.”
He continued, “I’d look at a shirt and think, ‘I can get a couple of wears out of this each week. This will work.’”
Reflecting on that time, Tatum, now 44, remarked, “The year of the fresh white T—’99 or 2000. It was a great year.”
Discussing his go-to wardrobe items, Tatum, dressed in a simple Hanes T-shirt tank top, shared, “I’ve always been drawn to a worn, old white shirt. It’s just a timeless choice.”
The Bullet Train actor also mentioned that he’s been wearing Dickies and Carhartts for years, saying, “They’re versatile—you can wear them in a tough situation or while painting with your daughter in the backyard.”
“They’re just reliable, in my opinion,” he added.
In a 2022 interview, Tatum explained that his straightforward style is influenced by his Southern upbringing.
“I grew up in the South, where it’s common to wear white T-shirts and chains everywhere,” he noted in an earlier conversation with VMan Magazine.
Tatum also mentioned, “When I started being noticed as a model, I delved deeply into the high fashion world. Living in New York, you eventually find your own style.”
