COAS General Asim Munir: Attempts Against Peace Will Be Crushed with Overwhelming Force

RAWALPINDI – Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir reiterated the military’s unwavering resolve to protect Pakistan’s peace and stability, warning that any effort to disrupt national harmony will be met with decisive and overwhelming action.

Visit to Peshawar and Security Briefing

During his visit to Peshawar, General Munir received a comprehensive briefing on the security situation and ongoing counter-terrorism operations against Fitna Al Khwarij. He was joined by the Federal Interior Minister and Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Praising the sacrifices and resolve of the Pakistan Armed Forces and law enforcement agencies, the COAS emphasized:

“The enemy may try to sow discord and fear, but we will not relent. Hostile elements will be dealt with an iron hand.”

Counter-Terrorism Successes

General Munir highlighted the military’s success in:

  • Eliminating key terrorist leaders.
  • Dismantling terror infrastructure.
  • Neutralizing cells, effectively degrading terrorists’ operational capacity.

He reaffirmed that the fight against terror will continue until it reaches its logical conclusion, stressing that every operation reflects the courage, professionalism, and operational readiness of Pakistan’s security forces.

Political Unity and National Resolve

During a meeting with political leaders from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, consensus was reached on the need for a unified political voice and public support against terrorism. Participants lauded the unwavering role of the Armed Forces in combating extremism and agreed on setting aside political differences to forge a unified front.

Intelligence-Based Operation in Balochistan

In a separate development, the military’s media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), reported that security forces eliminated 27 terrorists during an intelligence-based operation in Kacchi district, Balochistan.

  • Troops surrounded the terrorists’ hideouts and engaged in an intense exchange of fire.
  • Arms, ammunition, and explosives caches were recovered and multiple hideouts destroyed.

The terrorists were linked to attacks on security forces and civilians and were highly wanted by law enforcement agencies.

“Security forces of Pakistan, in step with the nation, remain determined to thwart attempts at sabotaging peace, stability, and progress of Balochistan,” the ISPR stated.
