Efforts continue to halt official construction
at shrine of Masooma-e-Sindh Bibi Maham

TFD Report

KARACHI: The act of inciting sectarian tensions by staging a protest through a religious organization and chanting inflammatory slogans against the decision issued by the Sindh High Court, Circuit Bench Hyderabad, falls under the category of contempt of court. Therefore, the honorable court should immediately initiate contempt of court proceedings against the petitioners.
This demand was made by the renowned religious scholar and speaker, Allama Syed Aal-e-Ahmed Bilgrami, in his released statement.
He stated that following the decision by the Sindh High Court Circuit Bench Hyderabad, the official construction work initiated by the Sindh Government’s Auqaf Department at the sacred shrine of Bibi Maham Salamullah Alaiha was attempted to be stopped by the petitioners, including Ghulam Rasool Qureshi.
To create sectarian unrest, a protest was staged by a religious party at the shrine of Bibi Pak, involving the chanting of provocative slogans and issuing open threats.
We strongly condemn these actions and draw the attention of the Sindh Government to the fact that the same individuals had also attacked and vandalized the holy shrine of Bibi Pak on the day of Eidul Fitr, for which a First Information Report (FIR) was registered at Ghulam Leghari Police Station.
He urged the Government of Sindh, the district administration of Badin, and all security agencies to take immediate notice of these disruptive activities aimed at spreading sectarian tension and to take legal action against such elements who are enemies of peace.
He also forcefully demanded the honorable court to immediately initiate contempt of court proceedings against the petitioners, and appealed to all mourning organizations and associations across the country to raise their voice for justice in this matter nationwide.
