ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s positivity rate fell to 3.1 percent during the last twenty-four hours as the third wave of the coronavirus is subsiding in the country.
The data issued by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) on Sunday showed that Pakistan carried out 52,427 tests in the last 24 hours out of which 1,629 returned positive. The number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 climbed to 932,140 after these fresh cases.
The country also reported 76 deaths from the coronavirus over the past 24 hours, taking the nationwide death toll to 21,265. Some 3,452 patients were reported to be in critical care in various hospitals across the country.
At least 403 new coronavirus cases were recorded in Punjab during the past 24 hours, taking the provincial tally to 342,192.
According to the Punjab Primary and Secondary Health Care Department, at least 49 more patients succumbed to the pandemic as the total death count reached 10,290. The department added that at least 317,190 patients had recovered from the deadly virus as of yet, with 1,024 people recovered in the past 24 hours. – TLTP
