Cristiano Ronaldo Targets Asian Champions League Glory with Al Nassr

Cristiano Ronaldo and his Saudi club, Al Nassr, are set to take on Japan’s Yokohama F. Marinos in the quarter-finals of the newly rebranded Asian Champions League Elite. The match is scheduled for April 26, 2025, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

At 40 years old, Ronaldo remains a dominant force, having already won the UEFA Champions League five times. Now, he aims to claim his first major Asian title. The Portuguese forward has been instrumental in Al Nassr’s campaign, recently scoring his 27th goal of the season in a 3-0 victory over Esteghlal Tehran, bringing his career total to 927 goals.

The knockout rounds of the tournament, including the quarter-finals, semi-finals, and final, will all be held in Jeddah in a single-leg format. The winner between Al Nassr and Yokohama F. Marinos will advance to face either Japan’s Kawasaki Frontale or Qatar’s Al Sadd in the semi-finals.

Al Nassr’s domestic rivals, Al Hilal, who have previously won the Asian title four times, will compete against South Korea’s Gwangju FC in another quarter-final clash. The semi-finals are set for April 29-30, while the final will take place on May 3 at King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah.

With Ronaldo leading the charge, Al Nassr hopes to make history by securing their first-ever Asian Champions League title.
