DEPD, PEDF present three-wheeled motorcycle to Karachi Press Club employee

KARACHI: With the support of the Honorable Chief Minister of Sindh, Syed Murad Ali Shah, and under the leadership of Secretary, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPD), Mr. Tuaha Ahmed Farooqui, an automatic three-wheeled motorcycle was presented to Mr. Imran Ahmed, an employee of the Karachi Press Club.
The initiative was made possible through the efforts of Karachi Union of Journalists (KUJ) President Mr. Tahir Hassan Khan. The automatic three-wheeled motorcycle was provided by the Pakistan Education and Development Foundation (PEDF) in collaboration with the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPD).
On behalf of DEPD, Regional Director Karachi, Mr. Farman Ali Tanwari, accompanied by his team member Mr. Muhammad Sharif Lashari, along with PEDF Executive Director Mr. Zafar Ali and CEO Ms. Sanja Syed, visited the Karachi Press Club and formally handed over the keys of the three-wheeled motorcycle to Mr. Imran Ahmed.
The ceremony was attended by former Joint Secretary of the Karachi Press Club, Mr. Shams Kerio, and other senior journalists.
During the event, the attention of the DEPD Regional Director was drawn to another Karachi Press Club member, Mr. Mushtaq Qureshi, with a request to arrange an electric wheelchair to improve his independent mobility. Mr. Farman Ali Tanwari assured the participants that an electric wheelchair would be provided to Mr. Mushtaq Qureshi next week to facilitate his mobility and independence.
On the occasion, KUJ President Mr. Tahir Hassan Khan expressed his sincere gratitude to the Honorable Chief Minister of Sindh, Syed Murad Ali Shah, and Secretary DEPD, Mr. Tuaha Ahmed Farooqui, for their continued commitment to the empowerment and inclusion of persons with disabilities.
