DGF partners with Al Baraka Bank to empower women via LadiesFund UNSDG Training

KARACHI: The Dawood Global Foundation (DGF) LadiesFund, in collaboration with State Bank of Pakistan, AL Baraka Bank and the United Nations Development Programme, recently orchestrated a groundbreaking training session dedicated to empowering women. This transformative event took place at the renowned Buraq Center by LadiesFund in Karachi, as an integral part of the foundation’s UNSDG Training for Women initiative, says a Press release.
The training session, attended by women from diverse backgrounds, had a dual focus on personal and professional growth, providing a dynamic platform for skill enhancement and networking opportunities. The esteemed four-person United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) team, specially visiting from Islamabad, played a pivotal role in delivering the comprehensive training, principally led by Head of Climate Promise Usman Manzoor.
“Women and diversity are very important to us, particularly in our work towards climate,” said Manzoor.
Bushra Siddique, Sr. Joint Director, State Bank of Pakistan spoke about the central bank’s commitment to both inclusivity as well as sustainability.

Attendees included over 70 women SMEs, corporate women from Albaraka Bank, Pakistan State Oil, Dawood Family Takaful Ltd., and other leading companies.
