KARACHI: DHA Suffa University (DSU) successfully convened the third meeting of its Corporate Advisory Council (CAC) on June 18, 2026. The meeting brought together prominent leaders from academia, media, diplomacy, government, and the arts to provide strategic insights aimed at strengthening the University’s academic curriculum and professional engagement with society.
The session was honorarily chaired by renowned journalist and analyst Mr. Mazhar Abbas, alongside Co-Chair Ambassador Qazi M. Khalilullah (Retd.), former diplomat and foreign affairs expert. Discussions focused heavily on bridging the gap between academic learning and industry requirements, enhancing student employability, and creating robust internship pipelines.
The meeting bore several tangible deliverables and collaborative commitments for DSU students, including:
” Media & Publication Platforms: The Financial Daily International announced it will dedicate a weekly page to publish DSU students’ articles, creative writing, and opinion pieces.
” Exclusive Internships: Oxford University Press (OUP) Pakistan, the Arts Council Pakistan, and the Centre for International Strategic Studies Sindh (CISSS) all committed to providing direct internship placements for DSU students.
” Professional Development: OUP Pakistan offered complimentary faculty training programs and discounted study-skills workshops for both faculty and students.
During the session, industry experts highlighted the evolving demands of the job market. Mr. Azhar Abbas (Geo News) highlighted the critical importance of strengthening liberal arts education to develop strong analytical thinkers and effective writers, while Dr. Shaista Tabassum (University of Karachi) offered strategic input on curriculum design. Representatives from the Express Media Group and HUM TV Network also reaffirmed their continued support for recruiting and mentoring DSU graduates, particularly from the Faculty of Social Sciences.
In his concluding remarks, honorary chairperson Mr. Mazhar Abbas praised the University’s initiatives and urged further curriculum enhancement. He stressed the necessity of cultivating dynamic, intellectually open, and competitive professionals equipped to succeed in today’s rapidly changing world.
Following the meeting, CAC members visited a poster exhibition showcasing final-year research projects by students from the International Relations and English programs, highly commending their innovative ideas and research efforts.
