From transforming urban transport systems to enhancing energy security through hydropower projects, NORINCO continues to be a vital partner in Pakistan’s development. As both nations strengthen their ties through CPEC and other initiatives, NORINCO remains instrumental in helping Pakistan achieve its economic and infrastructural objectives.

Our final visit of the day was to the residence of the Ambassador of Pakistan, where our host organization, CEN, arranged a dinner in our honor. Ambassador Khalil Hashmi, who assumed his role as Pakistan’s envoy to the People’s Republic of China on November 11, 2023, hosted the event.
Before his appointment as Ambassador to China, Mr. Hashmi served as the Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the United Nations and other international organizations and was involved in disarmament negotiations in Geneva. His diplomatic career includes postings in Copenhagen, Beijing, and multiple terms at the Pakistan Mission to the United Nations in New York.
At the Ambassador’s residence, Pakistan Embassy staff welcomed us. Following an ongoing meeting, Ambassador Hashmi joined us to brief us about Pakistan House, Beijing, and the embassy’s efforts to enhance Sino-Pak ties, particularly through people-to-people contact. He also commended CEN’s role in China’s economic development. The CEN team, led by Ms. Yin Yanan, attended the delightful dinner hosted by Mr. Khalil Hashmi.
