MUZAFFARABAD: Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan has expressed profound gratitude to the entire political leadership of the state for extending all out support to contain COVID-19 in the liberated territory.
He was addressing the session of AJK Legislative Assembly held here on Friday.
The Prime Minister told that lists are being prepared within a week to provide financial assistance to the rikshaw, Suzuki drivers, conductors and barbers.
He further informed that a policy is being devised to allocate the shopping time separately for men and women. “Under this, men would be able to shop in markets from 08 to 12 similarly women would be free to shop from 12 to 04pm”, the premier disclosed.
Raja Farooq Haider Khan added that concerned persons had ensured complete implementation on SOPs in mosques throughout the state.
On this occasion, Prime Minister eulogized the sacrifice of chief commander of Hizbul Mujahideen Riyaz Naikoo and his associate, Aadil Ahmad, who were martyred by Indian troops in Pulwama district on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, members of the legislative assembly including former Prime Minister Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan, Abdul Rasheed Turabi, Chaudhary Rukhsar Ahmed, Pir Syed Ali Raza Bukhari, Muhammad Sagheer Khan, Asad Aleem Shah, Mrs. Naseema Wani tabled their resolutions condemning gross human rights violations by the Indian occupant forces in the held valley.
Identical resolutions expressed grave concern over the deteriorating situation in the Occupied Kashmir and urged international community and global human rights bodies to intervene and help stop the Indian atrocities on the unarmed innocent Kashmiris.
A resolution stated that an unrelenting military siege and crippling lockdown imposed by the fascist Modi government of India on August 5, last year, have completed 9 months and the life of Kashmiris has been made a living hell by the Indian authorities since New Delhi illegally abrogated Article 370 of its constitution on August 5, 2019, to revoke the special status of Jammu and Kashmir.
The resolution stated that India is snatching the identity of the Kashmiri people through changing the Muslim-majority status of the occupied territory
It added that India recently notified new domicile law for the territory. Three hundred thousand (300,000) domicile certificates were granted to non-locals while the Modi government continues to replace the Muslim names of the territory with Hindu names.
The resolutions stated that despite flow in Corona virus cases thousands of Hurriyat leaders, activists, politicians and civil society members including Hurriyat leader, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Muhammad Yasin Malik, Masarrat Aalam Butt, Syeda Aasiya Andrabi, Fehmeeda Sofi, Nahida Nasreen and others are illegally detained in Tihar and other jails of India.
