GUJRANWALA: A delegation of Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce and Industry
held an important meeting in Islamabad with Member Customs Policy Muhammad Saeed Jadoon on the direction of Dr. Ashfaq Ahmed, Chairman FBR.
The delegation was led by President Gujranwala Chamber Muhammad Shoaib Butt. Apart from Farrukh Ijaz, Basit and Zahid Saleem, senior officials related to customs policy were also present in the meeting.
President Gujranwala Chamber Mohammad Shoaib who was leading the delegation, in his discussion with the Member Customs Policy said that at present the business community of Gujranwala has to face immense complications in the import of compressor, motor, copper, steel furnace scrap and other raw materials including export. Due to which the business people are suffering from severe anxiety. If these conditions continue, it will be difficult to do business in Pakistan.
The delegation of Gujranwala Chamber also stressed that if the business community is not given facilities then business will not run and it will be difficult to meet the tax targets.
Welcoming the delegation of Gujranwala Chamber, Member Customs Policy Muhammad Saeed Jadoon said that Gujranwala is an important industrial city of Pakistan and is playing a vital role in the Pakistani economy which we are well aware of. We assure you that the business community will be relieved in their light.
There is no doubt that the business community is currently embroiled in unnecessary taxes and other issues. The issues pointed out by the Gujranwala Chamber will be resolved in consultation with the Gujranwala Chamber. He said that he would visit Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce soon.
