The federal government has officially banned foreign study tours for senior bureaucrats attending the National Management Course (NMC). The Establishment Division, following Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s approval, issued a notification prohibiting such tours to conserve foreign exchange.
The Training Wing of the Establishment Division informed the Rector of the National School of Public Policy (NSPP) in Lahore about this decision. The NSPP, which had requested approval for NMC participants’ foreign study tours, was instructed to cancel all foreign tours for the 121st NMC participants and to avoid scheduling similar trips in the future.
The NMC, a program for Grade-20 officers across various service groups, previously included these international tours as part of its curriculum.
