KARACHI: The inaugural ceremony of Greenwich University Journalist Association GUJA, was held here Wednesday. Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Maritime Mehmood Moulvi was the chief guest at this event.
In his address on the occasion, Mehmood Moulvi said that journalists play a very active part in nation building and development.
He said that academia and media working from one platform surely will bring betterment for both the sectors. He said that a lot of constructive initiatives can be executed from the platform of GUJA.
Vice Chancellor Greenwich University Seema Moghal, in her address, said that 50% scholarship will be given to students on the recommendation of the committee of journalists, which will be formed very soon under the umbrella of GUJA.
She said that Greenwich University wants to build a strong relationship with the media so that together we endeavour for a better future.
Executive Editor ‘The Financial Daily’ and General Secretary Karachi Editors Club Manzar Naqvi, Resident Editor Daily ‘Pakistan’ and President Karachi Editors Club Mubasher Mir, Ehsan Qureshi, Riazuddin and Rohail Intekhab also addressed the gathering.
In their address, they lauded the efforts of Greenwich University for forming Greenwich University Journalist Association (GUJA). They said that it is a great initiative and certainly would be helpful for journalist fraternity.
Later, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Maritime Mehmood Moulvi distributed shields among the journalists.
