Hamas, Iran Vow Retaliation as Conflict With Israel Intensifies

GAZA/TEHRAN – June 5, 2025:
As tensions in the Middle East surge, Hamas and Iranian military leaders have warned of continued retaliation against Israel, following one of the most intense exchanges of strikes in recent history.

Hamas political bureau member Izzat al-Risheq issued a stark message on Telegram, praising Iran’s retaliatory missile and drone strikes on Israeli targets.

“The strong Iranian response proves that no arrogance goes unanswered, no aggression goes unpunished,” al-Risheq said.
“Dozens of precision missiles and drones successfully hit their targets deep inside the entity [Israel], despite all the hype about its defense systems. The message of the response is clear: whoever attacks will pay the price.”

The comments come after Iran launched a coordinated missile and drone assault on Israel, reportedly in response to the assassination of senior Iranian military leaders by Israeli forces earlier this week.

Iran Confirms Ongoing Strikes, Top Commanders Killed

Brigadier General Gholamreza Mehrabi, deputy head of intelligence at the Armed Forces General Staff, and Brigadier General Mehdi Rabbani, deputy chief of operations, were both confirmed killed in Israeli strikes — described as the most expansive wave of attacks against Iranian assets to date.

“These commanders, who served with distinction during the eight years of the Sacred Defence [Iran-Iraq war], were martyred in a cowardly attack by the Zionist regime,” the Iranian Armed Forces’ public relations office said.

In a statement aired on state media, Armed Forces spokesperson Abolfazl Shekarchi declared Iran’s intention to continue military operations:

“There is a weak belief in the minds of Israelis that eliminating military commanders will disrupt our structure. But our commanders will continue on their path with strength and make them regret their actions.”

Musk Activates Starlink for Iranians

In a separate development, Elon Musk confirmed that Starlink satellite internet access had been re-enabled for users in Iran.

“Beams are on,” the tech billionaire posted, responding to calls from activists and journalists seeking uninterrupted internet connectivity amid escalating conflict.

Outlook

With Iranian leadership vowing to escalate retaliation and Hamas praising the strikes as a “turning point,” the region braces for further unrest. Analysts warn that the death of senior Iranian commanders and Tehran’s aggressive military posture could trigger a broader regional confrontation.
